About Me

Hello and welcome to my website.

My name is Jenny Lawrence, a qualified counsellor working in Milton Keynes.

For many years I have been working with those experiencing relationship breakdown in the Milton Keynes area. This can come in the form of divorce, separation, loss of friendship or family communication breakdown.

For some this loss of relationship can feel similar to a bereavement leaving people feeling lost, guilty and anxious about the future. These difficult feelings can have a detrimental affect our health and well-being.

I also work as a counsellor for carers in Milton Keynes. In this field I work with those who due to unexpected circumstances, have found themselves as carers for elderly or disabled family members.

This unexpected life change can feel overwhelming and sometimes leads to depression, feelings of guilt, isolation and loss of personal identity.

As carers, people prioritise the needs of others, often neglecting their own health and wellbeing.

These situations often arise without prior warning. Those affected don’t have a chance to adjust properly, which can take its toll on our mental health.

Through our counselling sessions we can look at ways to help you come to terms with these major life changes, giving you the opportunity to process what is happening and adjust more positively to a new way of life.

My qualifications are as follows:

  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • CPCAB Introduction to Counselling

I attend regular Continued Professional development courses and I am DBS checked.

I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. More information is available here: http://www.bacp.co.uk
